Hello!  I'm Shahar {Alina} McSalters! Yes, that is my real name! 

With over 10 years of logistics, organizational, and problem-solving experience, I use my knowledge to assist my clients curate custom weddings. I believe your wedding day begins during the first planning meeting. It is important to us to ensure we have detailed plans with contingencies; we can't predict the weather but, if need be, we can have a plan to work around it. ​​

I was born in Ft. Stewart, Georgia (I'm an ARMY brat), but raised in Prince George's County, Maryland.​ I love to laugh, travel, cook, plan and host friends and family gatherings. I’m a new mom of one sweet little girl, she's my best creation to date!​

While in college I discovered my love of hosting and event planning.  My father, an U.S. Army Veteran and freelance photographer encouraged me to start an "event concierge" business after he noticed I'd been a bridesmaid in a few weddings and a wedding guest in a handful of others all within the span of two years. After a couple pep talks and a prayer, Events by ShaharAlina was birthed the Spring of 2017.
